Fire Safety Surveyor
Location: West London
Rate: £350 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 3-Month Ongoing Contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Arrangement: Predominantly site-based with some home working
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Surveyor to join a busy Housing Services team in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a fire safety professional to play a key role in ensuring residential housing stock remains compliant with fire safety legislation and best practice standards.
The successful candidate will provide specialist fire safety surveying expertise, support and advice to ensure housing assets are inspected, managed and maintained in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and all relevant health and safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire safety inspections and surveys across residential housing stock.
- Assess compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated legislation.
- Provide technical fire safety advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of fire risk assessment programmes and remedial works.
- Monitor and report on fire safety compliance within housing properties.
- Review fire safety documentation, policies and procedures.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants and operational teams to ensure fire safety standards are maintained.
- Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety strategies and action plans.
- Produce detailed reports, specifications and recommendations following inspections and surveys.
- Support investigations relating to fire safety incidents, concerns and compliance matters.
- HND/HNC in Fire Safety Management, Fire Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (FC1/FC2) or equivalent fire safety qualification.
- Advanced Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment Certificate.
- Full Professional Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE); or
- Equivalent relevant professional membership such as:
- Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)
- Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
- Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- Demonstrable experience in fire safety surveying within housing, local authority, residential or public sector environments.
- Strong understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and current fire safety legislation.
- Experience of undertaking fire safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Knowledge of fire risk assessments and associated remedial actions.
- Ability to interpret technical information and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
