Job Responsibilities
- To demonstrate a commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and the ability to understand and implement the policy in relation to the job responsibilities.
- To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council’s health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.
- To promote and participate in the council’s individual performance appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice.
- In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
- Ensure the comprehensive and professional appraisal of the technical aspects of applications received within the team, to include consideration of the development plan and all other material planning considerations.
- Prepare professional reports and formulate recommendations on complex planning and related proposals for decision to the Planning Committee or by delegated authority.
Requirments
- Knowledge of current Town and Country planning, practice, procedures and legislation, in one or more areas; within planning, enforcement, policy or development control.
- Experience with Idox Icloud
- Experience in planning policy, planning enforcement or development management.
- Planning degree or equivalent accredited to the RTPI
- Full UK driving licence holder.
- Physically able to undertake site visits out of office and to inspect developed and underdeveloped sites safely.
Contract
- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Hybrid Position)
- Initial 12 month contract
- PAYE via Umbrella
