Pollution Environmental Health Officer
North London
My client is recruiting for a Pollution Environmental Health Officer based within the local Authority in North London and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- To take the lead and personal responsibility for effective investigation and resolution of complex casework across the full range of Pollution Environmental Health functions.
- Pollution services incorporate noise and statutory nuisances including but not limited to construction/licensed premise/people noise, planning applications and contaminated land.
- Carrying out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Understand complaints, investigate, negotiate and mediate between parties where possible to achieve positive outcome.
- Advise and respond to planning applications and desk search enquiries including contaminated land.
- Responsible for developing and delivering special projects, policy, research on areas of expertise and/or functional activity within the service.
- (HCC) Degree, HNC and/or HND level qualification in Environmental Health or an appropriate equivalent qualification or equivalent level of experience in an appropriate area.
- A qualified Environmental Health Officer who holds a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers’ Registration Board or holds a qualification acceptable to the Board, that is, Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) or a historical equivalent
- Local Authority exsperience
- Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
- PAYE via Umbrella
- Monday to Friday
- 9am to 5pm
