Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer 
Rate: £30 per hour umbrella 
Working Pattern: Hybrid (1–2 days per week in the office in Redditch)
Directorate: Housing, Communities, Environment & Planning

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on housing options, ensuring a customer-focused approach that reflects equality and diversity principles
• Manage a caseload of homelessness applications, applying current legislation and case law, including the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act
• Make defensible, legally compliant decisions at all stages of the homelessness process
• Coordinate temporary accommodation placements in line with legislation, policy, and best practice
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with private sector landlords to increase housing options and prevent homelessness
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive case files, reports, and records in line with quality and financial regulations
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, Council departments, and external agencies to deliver effective client support

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience working within homelessness services or housing options
• Strong working knowledge of housing legislation, including homelessness duties and case law
• Ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment
• Expereince working in a housing association or council
