Park Buildings Activation Project Lead

Location: North London
Division: Inclusive Economy, Leisure and Culture
Pay Grade: MG1
Reports to: Director of Inclusive Economy, Culture and Leisure

Role Purpose:
The Park Buildings Activation Project Lead will lead a UK Shared Prosperity Fund programme to revitalise disused park buildings in London. This role aims to transform these spaces into community and commercial assets, enhancing parks, boosting the economy, and promoting wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Audit disused park buildings and oversee Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
- Develop and run marketing and communications campaigns to promote buildings.
- Manage a two-stage leasing process, from Expression of Interest (EOI) to business case evaluation.
- Work with Estates and Legal teams on lease terms aligning with council objectives and funding.
- Engage with potential tenants, including businesses, Park User Forums, and VCS organizations.
- Ensure proposals benefit parks and deliver community, cultural, or commercial advantages.
- Report to the Director of Leisure, Culture, and Inclusive Economy on risks, progress, and outputs.

Selection Criteria - Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Understanding of parks, public space activation, or community asset development.
- Knowledge of property and estates processes, including EPCs.
- Successful project delivery with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with Park User Forums, VCS groups, and small businesses.
- Ability to deliver projects from concept to implementation.
- Strong communication and engagement skills.
- Understanding of inclusive economic development principles.
- Interest in enhancing parks and green spaces.
- Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Access to transport for site visits.
