Council Tax, Revenues & Benefits Officer
South East London
Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote
3–6 month ongoing contract
£27.97 p/hr umbrella

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Council Tax, Revenues & Benefits Officer to join a local authority in South East London on an ongoing contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

Administer Council Tax accounts and other revenue streams in line with current legislation
Prepare and represent the Council at Magistrates Court, County Court, High Court and Tribunals
Recover outstanding debts efficiently and effectively
Assist in managing and monitoring Enforcement Agents and other collection agencies
Maximise income collection in line with financial procedures and statutory regulations
Deliver a high standard of customer service to residents

Requirements

Proven experience working in Council Tax / Revenues & Benefits within a local authority
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and recovery processes
Experience with court work and debt recovery
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
