Job Description

Permanent Plumber – HMP North Sea Camp (PE22 0QX)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber to join the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account at HMP North Sea Camp. This is a site-based role.
You will be required to work 1 in 2 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
This position supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient prison facilities. The Plumber plays a vital role in ensuring that all planned and reactive maintenance work is completed safely, compliantly, and on time.
Standard hours of work: 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern applies).
Key Responsibilities

Ensure Health & Safety standards are achieved across the contract.
Complete statutory works on schedule, maintaining full compliance.
Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
Inspect water systems, take samples, and assess risks to maintain system integrity.
Repair mains water supply and replace life-expired equipment.
Monitor the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
Support zero carbon and sustainability initiatives.
Carry out additional duties as directed, including work at height and in all weather conditions.

Prison Security Clearance will be required (full support will be provided throughout the process).
What We’re Looking For

Appropriate trade qualification (Level 3)
Experience operating light plant and equipment
Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating with maintenance experience (applications from candidates with NVQ Level 2 will also be considered)
