Senior Economic Development Officer – Sectors & Clusters
Location: West London
Contract: 3–6 month ongoing contract
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working pattern: Hybrid – expected to attend the office on average at least 1 day per week
Rate: £39 per hour (Umbrella)

The Role Sitting within the Economic Development & Growth team in the Economic Development & Regeneration service, this post will lead the coordination and delivery of key sector and cluster-based interventions.

There will be a particular (but not exclusive) focus on advancing commitments within the Cultural Strategy as they relate to creative enterprise, including managing and developing activity linked to Creative Enterprise Zone status accredited by the GLA.

Key elements of the role include:
  • Leading delivery of targeted sector interventions, with a strong focus on creative and cultural industries
  • Managing specific projects from the Affordable Workspace Strategy, including overseeing delivery and outcomes
  • Working closely with Planning colleagues to support affordable workspace and growth-related initiatives
  • Collaborating with officers delivering wider business support and economic growth programmes
  • Providing critical support to the Strategic Lead on emerging priority sectors and clusters
  • Contributing to the overall coordination and day-to-day leadership of the economic development programme
About You You will be a confident and proactive economic development professional with:
  • Strong experience delivering sector-based or cluster-led economic development initiatives
  • Experience working in a housing association or council 
  • Knowledge of creative industries, cultural enterprise, and/or affordable workspace delivery
  • Proven project management skills within a public sector or partnership environment
  • Experience working across teams and with external stakeholders to deliver complex programmes
  • The ability to operate at pace, manage competing priorities, and add value quickly in a contract role
