Due to the continued success of our award-winning Fire Consultancy team, we are entering an exciting period of growth and are looking to appoint a Fire Engineer to join our expanding teams. This role can be based from any of our offices and will sit within established, multi-disciplinary environments, supporting the ongoing development of our fire consultancy capabilities.
We operates across the entire building lifecycle, from early design stages through construction and into in-occupation services. Depending on your experience, you will contribute to building design, construction support services, and/or fire safety risk assessments across a wide range of sectors.

What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing fire strategy reports and working closely with stakeholders throughout the design process
  • Supporting clients in meeting statutory requirements, including the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant secondary legislation, Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), and the Fire Safety Order (as amended)
  • Undertaking fire risk analysis and providing clear guidance on suitable control measures
  • Supporting internal design teams as part of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Working across a diverse portfolio of buildings and fire safety challenges
  • Liaising regularly with client teams to coordinate inspection programmes and remedial works
  • Undertaking site inspections, preparing schedules of works, specifications, cost estimates, programmes, and monitoring works on site for compliance
  • Providing a practical, methodical approach to problem-solving while working to fixed budgets and tight deadlines
  • Advising on Building Regulations applications relating to fire safety matters
  • Where suitably qualified, assisting with fire risk assessments and validation under Ridge’s BAFE SP205 certified system
What we’re looking for
  • A degree in Fire Safety or Fire Risk Engineering (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, including Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
  • A solid understanding of current fire safety issues, trends, and best practice
  • Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE)
  • Achieved, or working towards, professional registration with the Engineering Council
  • Experience in fire risk assessment and third-party registration (desirable)
