Repairs Operations ManagerSouth East London | Local Authority | £49 per hour (Umbrella) | 3-Month ongoing Contract | Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm | Full-Time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Operations Manager to join a Local Authority housing service in South East London. The successful candidate will oversee the responsive repairs service for occupied Council properties, ensuring homes are safe, repairs are delivered efficiently and residents receive a high standard of customer service.

Reporting to the Head of Responsive Repairs and Voids, you will be responsible for overseeing the full repairs process and ensuring the service consistently meets required performance, quality and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the responsive repairs service for occupied Council properties, ensuring residents' homes are safe and maintained to the required standards.
  • Lead the delivery of a high-performing responsive repairs service, ensuring repairs are completed within target timescales.
  • Monitor service performance, quality and customer satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure repairs are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Support effective financial management, value for money and efficient use of resources.
  • Provide leadership and support to repairs teams, promoting staff development and high performance.
  • Ensure the service approach aligns with the Council's strategic objectives and long-term sustainability.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain effective service delivery.
  • Promote excellent customer care and ensure residents receive a responsive and professional repairs service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, performance and overall service delivery.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience managing responsive repairs within a local authority, housing association or social housing environment.
  • Strong understanding of housing repairs and maintenance services.
  • Experience managing teams and delivering against performance targets and timescales.
  • Strong financial and contract management awareness.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive improvements within a busy repairs service.
  • Experience working within a social housing or Council environment is highly desirable.
