Strategic HR Business Partner
Location: South East London
Rate: £450 per day Umbrella
Contract: 3 months initially, ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Working Pattern: TBC
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Strategic HR Business Partner to join a busy HR and Organisational Development function within a South East London local authority.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic HR partner to senior leaders and Directorate Management Teams, providing advice and support across workforce strategy, organisational change and people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the strategic HR lead for designated directorates, working closely with senior leaders.
  • Develop and deliver workforce strategies aligned with service and organisational priorities.
  • Lead workforce planning and provide advice on organisational design and future workforce requirements.
  • Support and lead restructures, organisational change and service transformation.
  • Provide strategic advice on complex people and organisational issues.
  • Use workforce data and organisational insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Support leadership capability, organisational culture and performance.
  • Work closely with Trade Unions and other key stakeholders on consultation and organisational change.
  • Contribute to wider HR, OD and corporate transformation programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with Employee Relations, Organisational Development and other HR teams.
About You:
  • Strong experience working as a Senior or Strategic HR Business Partner.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and/or Directorate Management Teams.
  • Proven experience in workforce planning, organisational design and restructures.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law and Trade Union engagement.
  • Experience using workforce data and insight to support strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience within a large, complex organisation, ideally within local government or the wider public sector.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent senior-level HR experience.
