Housing Advisor 
Location: South West London
Contract: 3 Months (Ongoing)
Rate: £30.67 per hour (Limited/Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Minimum 2 days per week in the office (hybrid working available)

About the Role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Advisor to join a busy local authority team in South West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable housing professional to support residents with a range of housing needs, ensuring compliance with current legislation and delivering high-quality advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive housing advice and homelessness prevention support
• Assess housing needs in line with the Housing Act and relevant legislation
• Manage a caseload of clients, including those at risk of homelessness
• Conduct interviews and make decisions on housing applications
• Liaise with internal departments and external agencies
• Support customers with tenancy sustainment and rehousing options
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with GDPR

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Housing Advisor within a local authority
• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017)
• Experience managing housing caseloads and making statutory decisions
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong IT skills and experience with housing systems
